Ok so this one was always going to go viral. Just click the link or type the words “Do A Barrel Roll” into Google and watch the results. Pretty cool stuff. The thing that’s particularly intriguing however is that this definitely doesn’t work on Internet Explorer and neither do the results seem reproduceable on Firefox. SO if you’re sitting there clicking the link and you’re using one of these browsers, then there won’t be whole load of rolling going on.
To see this cool effect you’re going to have to download Version 16 of Chrome (Yes there have been 15 prior versions, where on earth have you been?) and after you have downloaded and installed it, then you can roll away to your hearts content, or at least until the dizziness sets in, which happens quite quickly. So this seemingly trivial and wonderful little effect begins to take on overtones of cunning, Machiavellian even labryrinthine marketing strategy. To Barrell Roll you need Chrome built by Google and it does make it interesting to consider what further browser specific affects are going to have more and more people flocking to Google’s door.

Yes, the barrel roll was awesome! I also love searching for ‘recursion’ in Google.
very neat, I hadn’t seen that one before – an eternal perfect loop
